Re: unexpected treasure

More wonderful words, evocative and familiar. I got "lost" in mom's forest, eventually crossing the un-demarked boundary into our surrounding neighbor's portion of the forest. I felt no fear, the day was calm, the trees with their slim tall trunks merely watching, as the underside of my shoes trod upon a decadent carpet of old leaves. I sat, just in wonder of how a spot could be so still yet so "aware"...not even the sound of any forest creature or birds. Just me and my new found family of trees. Somehow, they were so different from the ones on "our" side of the boundary. I eventually stood up, and with no problem or hesitation, wended my way slowly back through the canopy of military-wedding crossed branches above me, until I stepped, perceptibly , back onto "our" forest. Such a piece of magic, never to be repeated. Those trees were surely meant for people like me. Comforting rather than frightening  to a lost wanderer. And then I heard the birds....: )(Not our place)
